Mięguszowiecki Szczyt Wielki

Location

There are many Tatra peaks that are worth climbing, but among them there is one special -„the king” some would say- and its name is Mięguszowiecki Szczyt Wielki 2438 m.

It is a second highest peak in Poland and it rises above Morskie Oko lake with it’s nearly 1000 meter north face. Panoramic view from the top is well known, allowing you to see most of the High Tatra peaks.

Climbing and timing

There are few popular routes to get up on Mięguszowiecki peak.

First and the most popular leads through ledges of Cubryna Galleries, Hińczowa Col and complicated south face of Mięguszowiecki peak.

Second option leads through past glacial bowl of Bandzioch and takes us to Janczewski ramp, which is the ledge cutting diagonally the massive north face of Mieguszowiecki peak in 2/3 of its hight. This route finishes on a spectacular west arete, which continues high above Morskie Oko to the peak of Mięguszowiecki.

Climbing difficulties are never above II UIAA grade, but complicated topography of this mountain requires good knowledge of terrain, especially when the weather turns bad.

This outing is definitely aimed to the clients with a great fitness level and with some previous experience in moving confidently in that kind of terrain. It usually take around 8-10 hours

Safety

I assure rope protection all the way up and down the mountain. All necessary climbing gear ( helmets, harnesses, rope, etc.) and in winter (avalanche ABC, ice axes and crampons) are provided by myself without any additional cost.

This offer is for two guests maximum. Price depends on the time of the year and the number of people. Please apply for more info.
