Before you hire a guide

Hello and thank you for your interest in my guiding services.
Before you decide to use my offer, please take a moment to read the following important information.

Safety = Minimizing Risk

The primary responsibility of a mountain guide is to ensure maximum safety for clients. This does not mean that accidents cannot occur under unforeseen circumstances. Entering high mountain terrain and climbing always involves a certain level of risk due to the nature of the environment. As a guide, I rely on my extensive experience, skills, and in-depth knowledge of the area to minimize that risk as much as possible.

Tour Objective and Cost of Service

The goal of the trip and the cost of the service are always agreed upon in advance and adjusted to weather conditions and clients' capabilities.
Please use the contact form first — I may not always be able to answer the phone, but I will definitely call you back to discuss the details.

Weather and Conditions

The decision as to whether the conditions are suitable for a planned outing is always made by the guide. In making this decision, safety is the top priority.
In the case of unfavorable conditions, the guide may suggest an alternative route or a new date.
Lack of views or cloud cover, which do not significantly affect safety, are not valid reasons to cancel the trip.

Unforeseen Events and Situations Beyond the Guide's Control

Sometimes, due to sudden changes in weather or other unpredictable circumstances, the planned goal may not be achievable.
In such cases, the fee may be adjusted proportionally to the time, effort, and resources involved.

Exceptions apply to situations beyond the guide’s control — such as a client’s lack of proper or complete equipment, inadequate physical condition, poor coordination, or skills that do not match the earlier declaration. In those situations, the full fee for the trip will still be charged.

Equipment

All specialist gear required for the planned activity is top-quality, certified, and provided by me at no extra cost.
Of course, if you have your own climbing gear, you are welcome to use it — but I will inspect it beforehand to ensure it meets safety standards.

Insurance

Many outings take place in Slovakia or the Alps, where rescue operations are not free of charge. You must have insurance that covers rescue costs. This insurance must be purchased at least one day before the outing. It’s easy to obtain online or at most insurance agencies.
Make sure it’s an assistance policy that covers extreme sports.
